We managed to stay one step ahead of the weather and finished the tournament just
before the rains came as John Abate fired a net 70 to win this year's Black Cup.
The course was in excellent shape and the narrow fairways and many trees required
some accurate shots to keep the ball in play. Some unlucky souls didn't fair well
on a couple holes and were rudely treated to some very high numbers. But others managed
to keep things under control and score well like guest Teri Morton who took Runner-Up
honors. Will Hoppner had a good day on the par threes winning two closest to the pins.
Other closest to the pin winners were Jesse Tamez, Arun Kamboj and Loree McQueen.
Pat Harlow had a good day putting and won the fewest putts award while Elisa Hoppner
sunk the longest putt to take that honor. All in all it was a good day of golf
and finished nicely as we celebrated Elisa's birthday with some cake and a rousing
version of "Happy Birthday."
Congratulations to all who played and enjoyed a good tournament!
