With the weather cooperating and a great turnout, this year's May Day Classic provided not only
some fun golf, but also some great competition. Joan Ross emerged as this year's Champion with a
net 66. Joan and Pat Harlow were actually tied with Joan taking the tie-breaker. As a result, Pat took the B Flight
Low Net. For B Flight Runner-Up, there was a three way tie at net 72 between John Kranich, Ruben Tamez and guest
Rajan Warange with John winning the tie-breaker. The A Flight Low Net was also a tie between Mike Beesley and
Dan Sutter with Mike winning the tie-breaker leaving the Runner-Up to Dan. Our Closest to the Pin winners were
Jesse Tamez, Tony Cruz, John Kranich and Scott Hunter. Longest Putt went to Jeff Miller while Fewest Putts went
to Mike Beesley. Johnny Chavez took Men's Long Drive honors while Joan won it for the women.
We also had several matches played in our 2010 Challenge Cup race. In match 1, Tony Cruz beat Jesse Tamez in 19 holes. In match 2, Chris Tamez beat Justin Collins 3/1. In match 3, Ruben Tamez beat Tom Yacono 8/6. In match 4, John Abate beat Reico Cruz 4/2. In match 5, Ted Hammam beat Gary Lawson 3/2. In match 6, Pat Harlow beat John Kranich 3/2. And in match 7, Joan Ross beat Loree McQueen 4/3. Congratulations to all the winners!
