Last year's Player of the Year, John Abate, presented Will Hoppner with the 2007 Player of the Year Award following the New Years Cup tournament at Coyote Creek. Members accumulated points throughtout the tournament year based on participation and where they finished in each tournament. The player with the highest point total was named Player of the Year and has their name etched on the WCGA plaque. The winning player keeps the plaque until a new winner is determined the following year. Will's 1250 points were a runaway with only Loree McQueen, the runner up, close enough to worry him at the end. Nice job, Will, after a year when he suffered wrist surgery and little or no golf during his recovery.
