Last year's Player of the Year, Jesse Tamez, repeated as the 2009 Player of the Year. The award was presented following the Presidents Cup tournament at San Jose Muni. Members accumulated points throughtout the tournament year based on participation and where they finished in each tournament. The player with the highest point total is named Player of the Year and has their name etched on the WCGA plaque. The winning player keeps the plaque until a new winner is determined the following year. Jesse collected 1090 points to lead the field, followed by John Abate with 980, and Paul Bove with 940.
