We had absolutely beautiful weather after what seemed like endless rain and even though
the course was wet in places, we also had a great tournament as Brooks McLain captured
the 2010 Presidents Cup Championship. Brooks shot a net 65 and won a tie-breaker
against Jose Salvacion, who also shot a net 65 and won the A Flight Low Net. Ted Hammam
shot a net 66 and won the B Flight Low Net. We had quite a few other low scores which included
a gross 75 by Jesse Tamez, a net 70 by Mike Beesley, a net 71 by John Kranich and several net 72s.
Closest to the Pin winners were Jesse Tamez, John Abate and Bud Adler (holes 12 and 17.) Long Drive
for the men went to Eric Giles while none of the Ladies hit the fairway for their long drive.
Jesse Tamez took Fewest Putts with 29 and John Kranich took Long Putt, dropping a ten-footer
on a very tricky 18th green. Jesse Tamez was also presented his trophies for winning 2009's
Match Play Championship and Player of the Year. That gave Jesse nearly a clean sweep, only
missing out on the Challenge Cup Championship. Better luck this year, Jess!
Congratulations to all and Happy Valentines Day everyone.
