Conditions were near perfect for scoring as yet another record points total won this year's
Red White & Blue Cup. Chris Tamez shot a gross 72 resulting in 50 points to win his second tournament in a row.
Along with Chris, a total of 11 players had scores in the 70s with points totals ranging from 36 up to
Chris's 50. Brooks McLain had 42 points to take Runner-Up honors. Pat Harlow had 39 points to take 2nd Runner-Up
and John Legois had 37 points to take 3rd Runner-Up. It was a great venue with plenty of excitement like Paul Bove's
near Ace on hole #8 where his ball trickled by the cup and stopped a mere 4 1/2 inches away. It was also entertaining to see who
wore the craziest or fanciest combination of Red White and Blue to honor our nation's birthday. Ted Hammam won Best Dressed
again with a blinding outfit only a mother could love. Rumor has it that glare from his shoes caused more than one missed putt.
Closest To The Pin winners were Ted Hammam, Jesse Tamez, Reico Cruz, Paul Bove, John Legois, Mike Beesley, Damian Espinoza
and Loree McQueen. Eric Giles took Long Drive honors for the men while Sharon Dagostino took it for the Ladies. Fewest Putts went to
Justin Collins and Longest Putt went to Chris Tamez. We also had a team event with Team Tamez winning most team points and
Team Collins taking second.
Congratulations on helping celebrate our nation's birthday.
