Once again the Red, White and Blue Cup proved to be one of the most enjoyable
tournaments of the season as John Legois ran away with the scoring setting a new
tournament high of 49 points enroute to capturing the 2008 Red, White and Blue Cup.
The heat and smoke seemed to give way just long enough for us to get in a great day of
golf with lots of winners and plenty of fun in this modified Stabbleford event.
We awarded nine closest to the pins with John winning one, Jesse Tamez and Amedeo
Cappione winning two each, and Paul Bove, Tony Cruz, Steven Harlow and John Abate
winning the others. Our Ladies' Long Drive went to Sharon Dagostino and the Men's
went to Steven Harlow. Sharon also won fewest putts with an amazing 26! Scott Hunter
won longest putt. Besides our tournament champion, we had a runner up - Scott Hunter (41),
a second runner-up - Jesse Tamez (39), and a third runner-up - Amedeo Cappione (38).
We had some pretty low scores for stroke play with Jesse shooting an even par and
Amedeo shooting one over.
