The wind played a part in this year's Red, White & Blue Cup keeping the temperature cool for most of the day
and causing more than one shot to waiver from its intended path. As a result, the scores were not quite as good
as last year. But that didn't stop Ruben Tamez from putting together a winning round and taking the trophy with
38 points. The First Runner-Up was Paul Bove with 36 points and the Second Runner-Up was Damian Espinoza with 34.
There were many scores that were close to those indicating a pretty well-played round for almost everyone. As usual,
it was a load of fun to play as we played six holes from each set of tees. That made some par threes very short or
very long! The par three winners were Jose Salvacion, Chris Tamez, Brooks McLain, Paul Bove, Ted Hammam, Tony Cruz
and Jeff Miller. Loree McQueen seems to have a lock on Fewest Putts and she won it here as well with only 28 putts.
Sharon Dagostino won Ladies Long Drive while Jose Salvacion won it for the men. The Longest Putt went to Joan Ross.
Once again we had a best-dressed prize for the outfit that best honored our nation's birth and once again it went
to Ted Hammam. I guess we're going to have to get players to do some shopping for better Red, White and Blue outfits
for next year so we can unseat the clothing champ. Great job everybody!
Congratulations on helping celebrate our nation's birthday.
