Jesse Tamez put together a strong back nine and fired a 75/net 65 to win the 2008 WCGA Cup at Shoreline.
Two birdies on the back nine gave him a 35 coming in fighting pretty windy conditions. Will Hoppner's 81 was good enough
to capture the tournament low gross honors. Amedeo Cappione's fine putting won him the fewest putts
prize while Howard Roth's 8 footer on the final hole won him the longest putt award. Closest to the pin winners were
Loree McQueen, Elisa Hoppner, Amedeo Cappione and Scott Hunter. Bud Adler's bomb on number six won the
men's long drive while Loree won it for the ladies. Even with the strong winds, the course played pretty
fair and the scores were good. Even the geese cooperated and didn't make too much of a mess to
play around. Thanks for helping us celebrate the club's birthday with a well-played tournament.
