This tournament celebrated the club's tenth year of existence. We've played over 120 tournaments at nearly 50 different
courses and awarded nearly $30,000 in prize money and gift certificates over the years. We've had additional gatherings such as
summer picnics, annual parties, and special outings such as the two-day event at Saddle Creek. All in all, the club has done well
and thrived. We are still looking for additional members, but the club is solid and is in excellent financial shape.
And just like our strong club, Jose Salvacion played a strong game in tough conditions that included some cold and foggy weather at first to win this year's WCGA Cup. Jose's net 70 beat A Flight winner's Chris Tamez by one stroke and B Flight winner's Ruben Tamez by two. Jose also blasted the longest drive for the men on hole 9 - a shot nearly 300 yards! Loree McQueen won Long Drive for the ladies. Closest To The Pin winners were Chris Tamez, Paul Bove, Mike Beesley and Dan Sutter. Nobody hit the green on the tough 14th hole. Fewest Putts went to Reico Cruz and Longest Putt went to Paul Bove for his chip-in from the top of the 18th green. Thanks to all the membership for making this a great club for the past ten years and thanks to all who played for making this a fun tournament!
