Looks like Pat Harlow is on a roll, winning his second straight tournament with a net 70 to
win this year's WCGA Open - a major tournament worth double points. Pat was the only player
to shoot a sub-par round as the A Flight Low Net winner - Mike Beesley - shot an even par
71 to take that honor. B Flight Low Net went to Ruben Tamez with a net 74. Tournament Runner-Up
went to Jesse Tamez who shot a net 76. It could have been the high winds that influenced the scores
as we had some unusually high ones. Or maybe it was the slick greens. Either way, it was great to
have reasonable weather once more so we could enjoy a good round of golf. Closest to the Pin winners
were Jose Salvacion, Jesse Tamez, Loree McQueen and Steven Harlow. Nobody hit the green on the 14th hole
leaving prize money on the table. Long Drive for the women went to Loree McQueen while John Abate won it
for the men. It was nearly a tie between John and Steven Harlow who both had drives of nearly 350 yards
and it took quite a bit of measuring and estimating to figure out who actually had it. Fewest Putts went to Mike Beesley
and Longest Putt went to Paul Bove.
Congratulations to all
the winners!
