The winds were a challenge and the course was even a tougher challenge as Paul Bove fired
a net 73 to win this year's WCGA Open - a double points event. Putting was a real test on the
greens with all their slopes and undulations, but John Kranich managed to win the
fewest putts with only 32. Bud Adler took runner-up in putting with 34. We had two guests who
did well and finished first and second runner-up, respectively - Daminan Espinoza and Mike Beesely.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Pat Harlow, Rubin Tamez, Jessie Tamez and Jon Acosta. Justin
Collins sunk a 4' 5" putt on hole 18 to win longest putt - pretty darn good considering
where they placed the pin! If you were looking for a challenging match, this was it - especially hole
number 18 where some scores were out of sight.
Congratulations to all
the winners!
